University of Southern Denmark opens new campus in Vejle

The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has officially opened its new campus in Vejle, marking a significant expansion of the institution. The campus launched on September 1, 2026, with an initial cohort of 178 students enrolled in four English-language bachelor's programs: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Interactive Technology Engineering, and Software Engineering.

For the first few years, the campus will operate from a temporary location at Spinderihallerne. A permanent campus at Nordkajen is expected to be completed in 2030. By 2032, the university aims to host more than 1,200 students and over 90 scientific staff members, producing approximately 300 graduates annually.

In addition to the current bachelor's programs, SDU plans to introduce four corresponding master's programs starting in 2028. The establishment of the Vejle campus is the result of long-term collaboration between the university, Vejle Municipality, and local businesses to create an international research and education environment focused on digital technologies.
