University of Surrey researchers develop high-performance hydrated sodium-ion batteries

Researchers at the University of Surrey have achieved a significant breakthrough in battery technology by utilizing hydrated Sodium Vanadium Oxide (Na₃VO₄) for sodium-ion batteries. Contrary to industry standards that treat moisture as a contaminant requiring intensive heat treatment to remove, the research team maintained the natural water molecules within the material's nanostructure.

This approach resulted in a
