Latin American education authorities launch digital and AI teacher training initiatives

The Ministry of Education of Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego province, through its Digital Education Directorate, expanded its continuous training plan for teachers at all levels. New courses include AI‑assisted virtual learning environments, digital citizenship, project‑based learning, AI study techniques and mechatronics for robotics, open to both public and private schools.

In Mendoza, Argentina, the General Directorate of Schools opened registration for a second “New Coordinates: AI and Well‑being in the School Map” training session on 5 June at the Alfredo Bufano Convention Center in San Rafael. The programme targets private‑school administrators, teachers and orientation staff and features national experts discussing AI applications, emotional well‑being and emerging pedagogical challenges.

Chile’s Universidad de Talca delivered a competency‑based education diploma to 20 staff members of the Gendarmería School, providing tools for active methodologies, aligned assessment and student‑centred practices to support the institution’s accreditation process.

In Baja California Sur, Mexico, the Institute of Training for State Workers (ICATEBCS) signed a collaboration with Biotiquín to offer accelerated training courses and official occupational‑competence certification, incorporating programmes such as “Women Breaking Walls” and “Youth in Training”.
