University of Talca hosts Chemistry Olympiads for regional students

The 2026 Chemistry Olympiads were held at the University of Talca’s Lircay Campus, involving 124 high school students from the Maule and O’Higgins regions. Organized by the state university network and the Chilean Society of Scientific Education, the event aims to promote scientific interest among youth and select representatives for the 2027 Ibero-American Chemistry Olympiad.

Participants noted that the competition serves as a challenging way to reinforce knowledge and prepare for university entrance exams. Adolfo Marican Riquelme, director of the School of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Talca, highlighted the increasing participation in the event.
