University of Talca to present full production of Carmen
The University of Talca will present a full production of Georges Bizet’s opera ‘Carmen’ as part of the institution's 45th-anniversary celebrations. The performance features approximately 250 artists, including national vocal soloists, the University of Talca Symphony Orchestra, the University of Talca Choir, and the Children and Youth Choir of the institution's Music Conservatory.
Musical director and academic Víctor Hugo Toro stated that the production is the complete version as originally imagined by Bizet, rather than a reduced arrangement. The three scheduled free performances, which are already sold out, will take place on October 1, 3, and 6 at the Aula Magna of the Lircay Campus. The project is funded by the Ministry of Education's ADAIN program and supported by the university's administration.
