University of the Aegean Secures First Spot in QS World University Rankings

The University of the Aegean has been included for the first time in the QS World University Rankings 2027, ranking among 1,504 institutions worldwide and one of ten Greek universities listed. It placed 634th globally for Citations per Faculty and achieved strong scores in International Research Network (50.5) and Sustainability (49.1).

In the QS Europe Rankings 2026, the university moved up to the 541‑550 band out of 958 institutions, improving its International Research Network index from 20.8 to 36.9, its Sustainability score from 6.3 to 60.3, and its Citations per Paper from 12.3 to 36.7. It also retained a position in the 801‑1000 range of the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, showing progress in four Sustainable Development Goals: Life Below Water, Poverty Reduction, Gender Equality, and Partnerships for the Goals.
