University of the Americas Puebla launches AI journalism diploma with AMPEP
The Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) and the Asociación de Mujeres Periodistas y Escritoras de Puebla (AMPEP) have announced a Diplomado in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media for journalists. The four‑module online program begins on 14 August, with classes held on Fridays and Saturdays. It covers content creation, AI’s impact on media, misinformation, and ethics, and the first module’s capacity was expanded to 60 participants.
The first workshop is offered free to AMPEP members; the remaining three modules cost 1,000 pesos each. Luis Alberto Barroso Moreno, director general of Extension, Liaison and Diffusion at UDLAP, and Mónica Ventosa, president of AMPEP, highlighted the initiative as a response to digital transformation challenges facing the press.
