University of the Pacific and UCSB secure water polo wins
In recent men's water polo action in San Jose, ranked teams secured notable victories against San Jose State University.
No. 8 University of the Pacific defeated No. 13 San Jose State 13-10. Pacific utilized a strong defensive performance in the second and third quarters, during which they held the Spartans scoreless in the third period. Gabor Holl led the Tigers with four goals, while Petar Popovic contributed three goals and two assists. Gergely Kiss recorded eight saves in goal.
Additionally, No. 13 UC Santa Barbara extended its winning streak to six games by defeating two ranked opponents. The Gauchos secured a 13-12 overtime victory against No. 9 San Jose State and a 14-8 win over No. 20 Saint Mary's College of California. In the match against San Jose State, freshman Luigi Canepa scored multiple goals, and the team secured the win in overtime after a late-game comeback by the Spartans.
