University of Thessaly medical students launch alcohol awareness campaign
Medical students from the University of Thessaly, in collaboration with the Municipality of Larissa, conducted an awareness and data collection initiative regarding alcohol consumption in the Larissa region. Part of the ‘Hippocratic Wanderings’ program, the activity took place in Larissa's Central Square to educate citizens on the health impacts of alcohol and the importance of prevention.
During the event, students engaged with the public and collected anonymous data using the World Health Organization’s (WHO) internationally recognized AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) questionnaire. The gathered information will be utilized for research and educational purposes to better understand local alcohol consumption patterns. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Professor of Pathology E. Rigopoulou.
