University of Thessaly students to receive €2.29 million in housing aid

The Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has approved €2,294,500 in housing allowances for 1,120 students at the University of Thessaly for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Of the recipients, 1,011 students will receive €2,000, while 109 students will receive €2,500 based on specific institutional criteria. The funding supports students residing in Volos, Larissa, Trikala, Karditsa, and Lamia who live away from their primary family residence to pursue their studies.

Minister of Education Sofia Zacharaki stated that the financial aid aims to ensure equal opportunities in education, preventing housing costs from becoming a barrier to choosing specific universities or locations.
