University of Tokyo men's volleyball team suffers early losses at 7-University Meet

The University of Tokyo men's volleyball team faced a challenging start at the 65th National Seven-University Athletic Meet held in Fukuoka. During the first two days of the competition, the team suffered three consecutive straight-set losses.

On the opening day, the team lost 0-2 to Kyushu University. On the second day, they were defeated 0-2 by Tohoku University, struggling against the opponent's height and offensive pressure. They also lost 0-2 to defending champions Hokkaido University, narrowly missing a comeback in the second set after reaching a 25-25 tie.

Team captain Daichi Kai noted that while the team is improving on certain errors, they must address their inability to secure points during critical moments in the final stages of sets. Ace player Kengo Tamaki expressed a desire to remain competitive against other universities in the upcoming matches.
