University of Toronto leads three Canadian schools in global rankings

Three Canadian universities have secured positions within the top 100 in recent global academic rankings. According to the rankings released by National Taiwan University (NTU), which emphasizes research output through scientific paper quality and quantity, the University of Toronto ranked 4th globally with a score of 80.3. The University of British Columbia placed 32nd, and McGill University ranked 53rd.

In a separate report from ShanghaiRanking Consultancy regarding the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the University of Toronto climbed to 24th place globally, sharing the position with Zhejiang University. This marks the ninth consecutive year the institution has remained in the world's top 25. The ARWU metrics focus on research performance, including Nobel Prizes, Fields Medals, and highly cited researchers in various scientific and social science fields.
