University of Tours announces NEOLAiA visiting researcher winners

The NEOLAiA alliance, the University of Tours, and Le Studium have announced the winners of the third call for the ‘Visiting Researchers NEOLAiA/LE STUDIUM’ programme. Supported by the France 2030 Plan, the initiative aims to strengthen scientific collaboration between the University of Tours and partner universities within the NEOLAiA alliance by hosting researchers for durations of three to nine months.

Two European researchers have been selected for this edition. Marcel Mindrescu, an associate professor from the University of Suceava in Romania, will join the GéHCO laboratory at the University of Tours for six months. His research focuses on heavy metal contamination in terrestrial and aquatic environments affected by military conflicts and transport corridors, specifically studying cases in Ukraine and northeastern Romania.

Jonatán Cruz Angeles, an associate professor of public international law and international relations from the University of Jaén in Spain, will be hosted by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Legal Research (IRJI) at the University of Tours for three months. His research project is titled ‘The Prudent Judge: International Jurisdictions Facing Judicial Activism’ and aims to strengthen ties between the two universities.
