University of Tuscia and Fondazione Vulci sign heritage partnership

The University of Tuscia (Unitus) and the Fondazione Vulci have signed a three-year framework agreement to enhance the management and scientific research of the Vulci Archaeological and Natural Park. The partnership, signed by Rector Tiziana Laureti and Foundation President Laura Allegrini, aims to integrate academic expertise with local cultural resources.

The collaboration will cover several areas, including archaeological excavations, school-based construction sites, internships, and advanced training programs such as PhDs, masters, and summer schools. A significant focus will be placed on using innovative digital technologies for cultural heritage, including 3D surveying, GIS, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence, alongside efforts to protect biodiversity and the environment.

Immediate activities will include work related to the park’s archaeological restoration laboratory for stone and ceramics. A coordination committee led by Professor Salvatore De Vincenzo for the university and Scientific Director Carlo Casi for the foundation will oversee the projects.
