University of Udine launches 2026‑28 strategic plan to strengthen regional hubs and global cooperation
Rector Angelo Montanari presented the University of Udine’s (Uniud) strategic plan for 2026‑2028, highlighting four main centres: Udine as the central hub, Pordenone focusing on digital technologies, finance and industrial engineering, Gorizia strengthening its international and cross‑border studies, and Gemona concentrating on sports science, medical disciplines and sustainability through a new high‑level training school in resilience. The presentation followed a round‑table discussion moderated by Messaggero Veneto co‑director Paolo Mosanghini and received full support from the regional authorities.
The plan stresses that scientific excellence and international outreach complement Uniud’s historic ties to Friuli, positioning cooperation and dialogue as essential tools amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
