University of Urbino hosts fifth Mediterranean Student Summit

The University of Urbino Carlo Bo hosted the fifth edition of the Mediterranean Student Summit from September 22 to 24, 2026. Organized by UNIMED (Union of the Universities of the Mediterranean) and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), the event was held with the support of the university and the patronage of the Union for the Mediterranean.

The summit brought together 25 students from 11 different countries, including Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, and Morocco. The three-day program focused on the role of younger generations in promoting intercultural dialogue and building more inclusive, participatory, and diverse university communities.

University Rector Giorgio Calcagnini attended the inaugural ceremony, noting the institution's long tradition of welcoming people from around the world to foster cultural exchange.
