Spain and Portugal hold CPR training sessions for Cardiac Arrest Awareness Day

To mark European Cardiac Arrest Awareness Day on October 16, various regional initiatives across Spain and Portugal conducted training sessions in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED).

In Soria, the University of Valladolid’s Duques de Soria Campus held practical workshops led by the Nursing degree program to teach students and visitors life-saving techniques. In Huelva, approximately 1,200 young people participated in training coordinated by the 061 Emergency Health Center as part of the 13th edition of the 061 Cardiomarathons, an initiative by the Andalusian Health Service.

Furthermore, a cross-border collaboration between Galicia and northern Portugal took place in Chaves. Organized by the Galician Public Foundation for Sanitary Emergencies (061) and the Portuguese Red Cross Higher School of Health, the session trained 150 students to improve emergency response capabilities in both territories.
