University of Warsaw and AGH Rectors receive honorary doctorates in Ukraine

Professors Alojzy Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, and Jerzy Lis, Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology, have been awarded honorary doctorates by the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.

The ceremony took place on August 26 during a formal session of the Ukrainian university's Senate. The honors recognize the recipients' contributions to scientific development, academic management, and the strengthening of Polish-Ukrainian educational and scientific cooperation.

Specifically, the University of Warsaw's rector was honored for his commitment to academic solidarity and his support for Ukrainian higher education during the period of Russian aggression. Professor Jerzy Lis was recognized for his significant achievements in materials engineering and modern ceramic technologies, as well as his role in international academic collaboration.
