University of Waterloo RoboHub hosts student robotics co-op

Students from the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) participated in a summer co-operative education program at the University of Waterloo’s RoboHub.

During the placement, students engaged with advanced technology, including the OREO from the Brain Lab, a seven-degree-of-freedom robotic head designed with cameras to mimic primate behavior. The experience provided students with exposure to drones, autonomous systems, and professional research environments. Beyond technical skills, the program emphasized the development of a growth mindset, resilience, and professional soft skills such as communication and initiative.
