University of West Florida partners with Home Base Florida for military wellness

The University of West Florida (UWF) has partnered with Home Base Florida, a program of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital, to launch the Warrior Health and Fitness program at its Pensacola campus. UWF is one of only three universities in the United States to host this initiative.

The Warrior Health and Fitness program is a free, 90-day wellness initiative providing veterans, service members, and military families with supervised exercise, nutrition education, stress management, and coaching. The program is designed to improve physical health and serves as a gateway to specialized support for invisible wounds, such as traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress.

Participants will utilize a dedicated wellness space in Building 77 on the UWF campus, located adjacent to the university’s Office of Military Services to facilitate connections with existing military-focused resources.
