University of Western Macedonia enrolls over 3,000 freshmen in 2026 admissions, a 10% rise

The University of Western Macedonia announced that more than 3,000 first‑year students will begin studies in September 2026, representing about a 10% increase in admissions compared with the previous academic year. The rise reflects the university’s recent investments in modern study programmes, research activity, international collaborations and campus infrastructure.

Rector Professor Theodoros Theodoulidis highlighted that the larger intake will strengthen both the academic community and the social‑economic life of the cities where the university’s schools operate, and he reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to delivering high‑quality education, global perspectives and professional development opportunities for the new cohort.
