University of Western Macedonia partners with Yale School of Nursing

The Midwifery Department of the University of Western Macedonia has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Yale School of Nursing at Yale University in the United States. This agreement establishes a new framework for collaboration in midwifery education and research.

The partnership focuses on the exchange of scientific knowledge and best practices, the development of joint research and educational initiatives, and the organization of scientific activities. It also aims to enhance the mobility of students, researchers, and academic staff between the two institutions. A key objective is to bridge academic training with modern developments in clinical midwifery practice.

The initiative was coordinated by Demetrios Papoutsis, Associate Professor and Head of the Midwifery Department at the University of Western Macedonia, and Michelle Telfer from Yale University. Theodoros Theodoulidis, Rector of the University of Western Macedonia, noted that the collaboration reflects the university's commitment to strengthening international academic ties and actively participating in the production and application of knowledge.
