University of Zenica hosts roundtable on AI and legal challenges

The Faculty of Law at the University of Zenica hosted a doctoral roundtable titled ‘Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence: Legal, Institutional, and Social Challenges of the Modern Era’ on September 18, 2026.

The event brought together doctoral students, university professors, and experts to discuss the legal and social implications of rapid technological advancement. The program was organized into four thematic sessions:

• Fundamental legal issues of AI, including human rights, criminal and civil liability, and copyright. • Privacy, personal data protection, and algorithmic oversight within banking, employment, and digital environments. • The application of AI in the judiciary, legal practice, and criminal proceedings. • Digitalization of the public sector, local self-government, finance, and legislative processes.

Participants shared research aimed at defining the ethical and legal boundaries of artificial intelligence and shaping future regulatory frameworks.
