University Politécnica de Chihuahua Opens Band Applications for 2026 Car Fest

The Universidad Politécnica de Chihuahua announced an open call for local and regional music groups to perform at the 2026 edition of its Car Fest, scheduled for 22 August 2026 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the university campus. The event will combine a family‑friendly program with food stalls, fireworks and a broad automotive showcase that includes classic, sports, electric, hybrid, low‑rider, motorcycle and modified vehicles.

Bands of any musical genre that have live‑performance experience may apply, presenting either original material or covers. Applications are submitted by phone (614‑131‑13‑45) together with the group's name, representative details and a digital sample of their performance. A selection committee will assess technical quality, artistic proposal and scheduling compatibility before notifying chosen groups. Rector Cristopher James Barousse also invited automotive clubs and independent vehicle owners to exhibit their cars.

Entry to the festival is secured by a donation of one kilogram of rice or beans per family, which will be delivered to the Caritas foundation via the Chihuahua Comparte initiative to support vulnerable populations.
