University students and regional authorities in Venezuela address academic issues

Student leaders from five campuses of the Universidad de Oriente (UDO)—located in Monagas, Sucre, Nueva Esparta, Bolívar, and Anzoátegui—have formed a unified front to demand urgent improvements. The movement is calling for immediate budget allocations to rehabilitate deteriorating infrastructure, better conditions for professors, institutional justice, and the convening of student elections to ensure representation.

In Zulia state, the regional government has inaugurated the jury for the 2023 'Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán' Regional Academic Award. The award, established under Decree 887 of 2023, aims to recognize excellence in teaching, research, and extension among professors from national, experimental, and private universities. The evaluation process is currently underway, with an official ceremony scheduled for December 8.
