University students support family through traditional agriculture

Two university students, sisters Ayşenur and Semanur Tokdemir, are spending their summer break working in their family's fields to support their education and household needs.

Ayşenur, a third-year law student at Anadolu University, and Semanur, a midwifery student at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, participate in every stage of traditional bulgur production. Their work includes washing the grain in natural springs, boiling it, and drying it using traditional methods.

The income generated from the agricultural production is used to cover their university expenses and other personal necessities. Both sisters noted that the experience has taught them the value of labor and cooperation while allowing them to witness their parents' dedication to farming.
