University volunteer teams conduct rural educational outreach in China

University volunteer teams in China have completed summer social practice programs focused on educational support and science popularization in rural areas.

A service team from Yantai Institute of Technology traveled to Jiaxiang County, Jining, to implement student financial aid policy outreach. The team utilized a multi-dimensional approach, including village-level consultations, community classrooms, and door-to-door visits, to help families understand tuition waivers, student loans, and other aid programs. The initiative aimed to bridge the information gap regarding educational funding for various academic stages.

Separately, a practice group from Harbin Institute of Technology’s School of Future Technology concluded a ten-day science education program in Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province. The team provided specialized courses covering United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as climate action and biodiversity, alongside localized topics like plateau ecology and renewable energy. The program combined classroom teaching with hands-on activities and cultural research to support rural education and scientific literacy.
