UNLaM in Argentina launches Engineering in Agrimensura degree

The Professional Surveyors Council of Buenos Aires Province approved the creation of an Engineering in Agrimensura (surveying engineering) program at the Universidad Nacional de La Matanza (UNLaM) during an extraordinary assembly held at the René Nicoletti auditorium of the university in San Justo.

The new degree aims to serve the densely populated La Matanza district, which previously had no local academic offering in agrimensura, allowing thousands of young residents to study the profession without traveling elsewhere in the province. Council president Reinaldo Beain called the decision a milestone for the profession and part of a broader strategy to strengthen the council’s role in public‑policy discussions and modernise the field.

The initiative reflects an ongoing policy to deepen ties between the professional council and public universities, improve access to updated technological tools, and support students and faculty in the development of the surveying sector across the province.
