UNLZ and UATRE launch industrial hemp development diploma

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the National University of Lomas de Zamora (FCA-UNLZ), in partnership with the Argentine Union of Rural Workers and Stevedores (UATRE), has announced a new University Diploma in Industrial Hemp Development.

Scheduled to begin in October 2026, the 100-hour hybrid program will combine virtual theoretical classes with in-person practical activities. Directed by academic director Sebastián Tosolini, the curriculum covers the entire value chain, including cultivation, harvesting, post-harvesting, and industrialization.

The program also addresses economic, regulatory, and labor aspects, focusing on industrial applications such as textiles, food, construction materials, bioplastics, and bioenergy. Training will include soil preparation, pest management, machinery, and business models, alongside occupational health and safety regulations for workers in the sector.
