Unna district appoints new treasury head; Ottersberg mayor seeks re-election

Olaf Steuber has assumed the role of head of the treasury for the Unna district, effective July 1, 2026. The treasury manages district finances and oversees the budget audits for local cities and municipalities.

In Ottersberg, incumbent mayor Tim Willy Weber, representing the Freie Grüne Bürgerliste Ottersberg (FGBO), is seeking a second term. He faces three challengers from the CDU, Greens, and FDP in the upcoming direct election on September 13. Weber’s platform includes expanding local heating networks and improving bicycle mobility.
