Unna Launches Free Smartphone Assistance Sessions for Seniors

The city of Unna (Kreisstadt Unna) has introduced a free "Smartphone‑Sprechstunde" at its centrally located, barrier‑free Lerntreff learning centre. The service, organised by the Amt für Kultur und Weiterbildung, targets older residents who want to become more confident with mobile phones and smartphones. Trained "Digital‑Begleiterinnen" provide one‑on‑one help with tasks such as writing e‑mails, using WhatsApp, searching the internet, taking photographs and downloading apps. No prior knowledge is required and participants are encouraged to bring their own device.

The sessions run on Tuesdays from 13:30 to 17:00 and Wednesdays from 13:30 to 18:30. Attendance is free and open to anyone interested, with a focus on grandparents, parents and other seniors seeking practical digital support.
