Unna to issue new free Park-and-Ride permits for commuters

The city of Unna has announced a new process for commuters to obtain free Park-and-Ride (P+R) permits at the Unna station following the end of a partnership with Deutsche Bahn. Starting September 1, the city administration will take over the issuance of these permits through the local citizens' office (Bürgeramt).

The change affects 110 parking spaces located at Königsborner Tor and behind the bus station. Previously, Deutsche Bahn issued these permits at the station's travel center, but that cooperation has concluded, leaving commuters without a clear contact point since late June.

Existing permits issued by Deutsche Bahn will remain valid until August 31, 2026. After this date, commuters must obtain a new permit from the city to continue using the P+R areas for free.
