Unrelated criminal incidents reported in Chile

Two separate criminal incidents have been reported in Chile involving different circumstances and locations.

In Las Condes, a surgeon identified as Robin Adrián Álvarez Contreras allegedly struck a municipal inspector with a vehicle during a traffic inspection. According to reports, the inspector was conducting a check on a Mercedes-Benz when they discovered the driver lacked a valid license and had expired documentation, including technical inspections and mandatory insurance. The driver reportedly fled the scene, hitting the inspector and dragging them across the vehicle's hood. The victim was treated for multiple contusions and a sprained ankle.

In Angol, a 33-year-old man was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Brigade (Bicrim) following an attempted femicide. The incident occurred during a domestic dispute involving alcohol and drugs, where the suspect allegedly attacked a woman with scissors and attempted to strangle her. Despite the prosecution requesting preventive detention due to the perceived danger to the victim and society, a guarantee court rejected the request, opting instead for lesser precautionary measures.
