Unrelated incidents reported in Brazil
In Belo Horizonte, the Military Firefighters Corps of Minas Gerais (CBMMG) issued a warning regarding a high risk of skidding on the Via Expressa (Avenida Juscelino Kubitschek) at the intersection with Avenida Tereza Cristina. The alert follows an incident where a truck spilled oil onto the asphalt, creating slippery conditions particularly dangerous for motorcyclists. Firefighters applied sawdust to the affected area to absorb the oil, though they noted that some sections of the road remain slippery. Drivers are advised to reduce speed and avoid sudden braking.
In Minaçu, Goiás, firefighters rescued a blue-and-yellow macaw chick that became entangled in internet cables over a busy avenue in the city center. The bird was safely removed using a net and pole without apparent injuries. It was transferred to a veterinarian for health evaluation and will be released back into the wild once professionals confirm it is fit for survival. This rescue is part of a high volume of wildlife interventions in Goiás, with the fire department recording over 7,400 such rescues in the state between January and late October.
