Unrelated incidents reported in Verbania and Milan

In Verbania, a 101-year-old woman successfully thwarted a telephone scam. An unidentified caller, posing as the woman's daughter, claimed an urgent need for cash and jewelry to pay for a life-saving surgical procedure. The woman recognized that the voice on the line did not belong to her daughter and immediately alerted the State Police.

In a separate incident in Milan, police officers from the Lambrate Commissariat saved an 86-year-old woman who suffered a cardiac arrest on Via Casoretto. After being alerted by a passerby, officers performed resuscitation maneuvers and coordinated with emergency services until medical personnel arrived. The woman was subsequently transported to the Monzino Cardiologic Hospital.
