UNSA admission exam fraud investigation leads to three arrests

Three individuals were detained during the first phase of the 2027-I ordinary admission exam at the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa (UNSA). The intervention occurred after security personnel used electronic detectors that flagged high readings during the entry screening process.

Police reports indicate that one applicant was found with an electronic device disguised as a camera, hidden within their clothing. Preliminary investigations suggest the two female suspects, aged 18 and 20, may be linked to a group known as ‘Las Reinas del Transmisor’. A 19-year-old male was also detained during the operation.

The suspects were transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri) to face investigations regarding the alleged crime of generic falsehood and potential attempts at identity theft or exam cheating. The university maintains strict prohibitions against mobile phones and data transmission equipment during evaluations.
