Unsettled weather forecasts for Honduras and Costa Rica

Honduras is expected to experience scattered precipitation, isolated showers, and electrical activity across much of the country. According to the Secretariat of Risk Management and National Contingencies (Copeco), these conditions are driven by the remnants of a tropical wave combined with a trough over the western part of the nation.

In Costa Rica, the weather forecast predicts high temperatures during the morning followed by intense afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall is expected to begin in mountainous areas before spreading to the Central Valley, the North Pacific, and coastal sectors of the Central and South Pacific. The Intertropical Convergence Zone is positioned off the coast of Costa Rica in the Pacific Ocean, meaning local atmospheric conditions will largely dictate weather patterns.
