Unsoed corruption probe: KPK investigates student admission scandal

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating allegations of extortion and gratification regarding the independent student admission process at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed). On October 5, 2026, investigators questioned seven witnesses at the KPK Merah Putih Building to clarify the selection mechanisms and governance of the admissions process.

Witnesses included Unsoed's Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Noor Farid, as well as university public relations staff, a notary, and various private citizens including students and traders. This follows previous searches conducted in September at several locations, including the residences of various Vice Rectors, a lecturer's home, and the Banyumas Regional Secretary's office.

The KPK has already named six suspects in the case: Unsoed Rector Ahmad Sodiq, Vice Rector III Norman Arie Prayoga, Head of Academic Affairs Eko Sumanto, and three private individuals, Dian Mulia Wardhana, Adhi Wiharto, and Mulyono. Investigators suspect that additional fees were being charged to prospective students outside of the official costs required for the independent admission track.
