Unstable weather forecast for Greece over the next ten days

Greek meteorologists predict a period of unstable weather for the next ten days, marked by rain, scattered thunderstorms and high temperatures. The instability will be limited mainly to the mainland, while coastal and island areas remain clearer.

On Tuesday (May 26) and Wednesday (May 27) conditions will be generally clear with brief cloud cover, but local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected in mountainous regions of the mainland, the north‑west, Crete and the Dodecanese. Winds will shift from the north (3–5 Beaufort) to the west later in the day, reaching up to 6 Beaufort in parts of the Aegean.

From Thursday (May 28) through the weekend, a resurgence of thermal instability will bring more frequent cloudiness and showers, especially in interior mountainous zones, with temperatures climbing to about 32 °C in the interior and 24‑30 °C along the coast and islands. By Friday (May 29) the weather will improve further, returning to mostly clear skies with a slight temperature drop in northern regions.
