Untag Surabaya welcomes 3,160 new students for 2026/2027

Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (Untag) Surabaya has welcomed 3,160 new students for the 2026/2027 academic year. Rector Harjo Seputro attributed the enrollment success to the institution's commitment to high-quality service and internal cohesion, noting that positive student and alumni experiences drive word-of-mouth recommendations.

During the New Student Campus Life Introduction (PKKMB) period, the university implemented a ‘Tumbler Day’ initiative, requiring students to bring personal water bottles. This environmental policy resulted in the reduction of 8,400 pieces of plastic waste.

The orientation program also focused on character building and international perspectives, featuring guest speakers such as environmental activist Melati Wijsen and scholar Xaviera Putri. The university aims to foster critical thinking and professional readiness through various non-academic organizations and a blend of digital and conventional learning methods.
