UNTDF to host International Portuguese Teachers Congress in 2026

The Universidad Nacional de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur (UNTDF) in Ushuaia will host the 12th National and 7th International Congress of Portuguese Teachers on September 24 and 25, 2026.

Organized by the Asociación Argentina de Profesores de Portugués (AAPP) and the LabIEC, the event will follow the theme “Thinking of Portuguese as a regional integration language (PLIR): tracing paths from Argentina.” The congress will be held in a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and virtual participation from teachers, researchers, specialists, and students.

The program aims to facilitate academic exchange regarding Portuguese language instruction, share pedagogical experiences, and promote linguistic policies related to MERCOSUR and regional integration. Additionally, the event will explore the incorporation of new technologies and artificial intelligence tools in language teaching.
