UNU-WIDER opens 2027 Visiting Scholars Programme in Finland

UNU-WIDER has opened applications for its 2027 Visiting Scholars Programme in Finland. The program invites qualified scholars to conduct research on development and global economic issues during a two-to-three-month sabbatical.

Applicants must hold a PhD in economics or a development-related discipline. The program encourages applications from early-career researchers, women, and those from developing countries. During the fellowship, scholars are expected to prepare papers for the WIDER working paper series and present a seminar in their field of research.

Selected scholars receive a monthly stipend of EUR 3,375 to assist with travel, visa, and accommodation costs, along with medical insurance. The application deadline is September 30.
