Ñuñoa launches Chile's first Education Hub as PUCV expands climate training

The Municipality of Ñuñoa has begun construction on Chile’s first Education Hub. The initiative aims to connect children and youth with universities, companies, and cultural organizations to discover talents early. The project includes specialized areas for robotics, automation, advanced languages, and psychosocial well-being through the CUIDA UNIACC space. Mayor Sebastián Sichel stated the goal is to provide tools that allow students to develop under equal conditions by offering experiences beyond the standard curriculum.

In a separate educational development, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) is expanding its Climate Change Education Diploma across Latin America. Supported by the Siemens Stiftung, the program trains teacher tutors to create localized educational resources regarding climate change. The initiative has recently reached the Urabá region in Colombia, including teachers from Turbo and Apartadó, as part of a broader effort to train over 120 tutors across four countries to strengthen community resilience.
