UOKiK identifies fuel quality irregularities at Polish stations

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has reported irregularities in fuel quality following inspections conducted by the Trade Inspection between January 19 and June 30, 2026. Out of 817 samples tested—including gasoline, diesel, LPG, CNG, and biofuels—four samples failed to meet required standards. All four instances of non-compliance involved diesel fuel.

The identified stations are located in the Lublin, Lubuskie, Mazowieckie, and Pomorskie voivodeships. Specific locations include Beta Prim sp. z o. o. in Lublin, Ośrodek Transportu Leśnego in Skwierzyna, Punkt Rozeta in Tczew, and Stacja AUTO GAZ in Borkowo. Issues detected included low ignition temperatures, improper oxidative stability, and excessive sulfur content.

Low ignition temperatures in diesel may indicate contamination with lighter fractions like gasoline, while poor oxidative stability can lead to sediment formation that damages fuel filters and injectors. Following the discovery of these issues, inspectors also reviewed the suppliers of the questioned products.
