UOM Quilmes leader Adrián Pérez arrested for illegal weapons possession

Adrián Pérez, the General Secretary of the Metalworkers' Union (UOM) for the Quilmes, Berazategui, and Florencio Varela section, was arrested in the Mataderos neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The arrest occurred during a preventive police operation targeting vehicle thefts involving signal inhibitors.

Officers intercepted a gray Peugeot 308 with tinted windows. Upon inspection, police discovered two Bersa .380 pistols, two knives, and a baseball bat inside the vehicle. Pérez was traveling with his driver and a bodyguard.

Following orders from prosecutor Nancy Haron, all three men were detained for the illegal possession of war weapons. Authorities have seized the weapons, the vehicle, and the suspects' mobile phones. The judicial system will now determine the legal status of the individuals and establish responsibility for the weapons found.
