Županijska bolnica Čakovec defends staff against threats and criticism

The Professional Council of Županijska bolnica Čakovec has issued a statement addressing recent public criticism and attacks following a patient fatality. The council expressed condolences to the grieving family and emphasized that the loss of a patient is a heavy burden for the staff, not merely a statistic.

Medical professionals at the hospital reported being subjected to insults, threats, and verbal attacks. The council rejected claims questioning the professional qualifications of their staff, asserting that all doctors' expertise is documented and verified by the Croatian Medical Chamber and state examination boards. They stated that while they understand public anger, they will not tolerate personal attacks against medical personnel.
