UPAP hosts XI Triple Frontier International Congress on medical innovation

The Universidad Politécnica y Artística del Paraguay (UPAP), through its Faculty of Health Sciences, held the XI Triple Frontier International Congress titled “MedNova 2026, Medical Innovation for the Future of Medicine.” The event utilized a hybrid format, featuring in-person sessions at the Hotel Marambaia in Ciudad del Este and virtual sessions via Zoom.

The congress brought together specialists, researchers, students, and professionals from Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Nilton Torres, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of knowledge exchange and strengthening ties between academic institutions and professional communities.

The in-person program included three thematic blocks. The first block, “The Silent Challenge,” addressed risk factors for non-communicable chronic diseases, renal health, and the pathophysiology of oncological cachexia. Other sessions covered topics such as “Diabesidad,” focusing on the intersection of diabetes and obesity.
