Upasana Singh alleges constitutional crisis at CINTAA

Upasana Singh, the former General Secretary of the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA), has alleged a constitutional crisis within the organization. Singh claims that the committee has been dissolved following the resignation of 11 out of 21 members, which, according to the association’s constitution, constitutes more than 50 per cent of the committee.

Singh further alleged that a new committee was formed illegally by including individuals who had previously lost elections. She stated that the current leadership is ignoring both the association's constitution and the labor commissioner, who reportedly issued a letter stating that meetings could not be conducted because the committee no longer exists.

In addition to the governance dispute, Singh accused current leaders Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure of using CINTAA’s resources and platforms for personal publicity. She claimed that official photographs from meetings with government representatives were selectively cropped to highlight Dhillon and Kolhapure while excluding other Executive Committee members. Singh also alleged that CINTAA funds were used for press conferences where Dhillon and Kolhapure were given undue prominence and that certain committee members were excluded from official events.
