Upbit adds new BTC and USDT trading pairs for four altcoins

Upbit, South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the addition of eight new trading pairs for four specific altcoins. The new listings include Biconomy (BICO), Bubblemaps (BMT), Nillion (NIL), and ETHGas (GWEI), with each token being paired against both Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT).

Trading for these pairs was scheduled to begin at 13:00 KST on August 21. To facilitate the launch, Upbit implemented specific network requirements for deposits and withdrawals: BICO, NIL, and GWEI are supported via the Ethereum network, while BMT is supported via the Solana network. The exchange issued warnings regarding the use of incorrect networks to avoid potential loss of funds.

As part of the listing process, Upbit applied temporary restrictions on order types and price volatility for the first few hours of trading to ensure market stability. The expansion into BTC and USDT pairs is intended to deepen liquidity and provide greater access for international traders who do not utilize the Korean won.
