Upcoming wellness and philosophy forums scheduled for late 2026 in Japan

Two distinct events focused on social diversity and philosophical inquiry are scheduled to take place in Japan in November 2026.

The TOHOKU DE&I FORUM 2026 will be held on November 5 and 6 at the AER building in Sendai. Organized by machico, the event focuses on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). The forum will feature seminars on organizational culture and wellness, including a showcase of femtech products and health services. Scheduled speakers include essayist Keiko Kojima and Maju Yoshise from the idol group Iginari Tohoku San.

In Kamakura, the Zen2.0 Special Forum, titled ‘What kind of liberal arts are required in the AI era?’, is set for November 20, 2026. This event aims to redefine liberal arts by integrating Aristotelian philosophy with Zen Buddhism. The program will include lectures, shakuhachi music, meditation, and bodywork to explore how human values and decision-making can be maintained in an age of generative AI. Participants include academics, monks, and business leaders.
